Dori Berinstein
Director /
Producer
Dori Bernstein, is an award-winning director and producer of film,
theatre and television. Gotta Dance, is Dori’s 3rd documentary
feature project. Her first, ShowBusiness: The Road To Broadway,
released theatrically nationwide, was recognized as one of the top
five films of 2006 by the International Documentary Association
(IDA) and won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the
Florida Film. The film documents the passion, sweat and glory, as
well as the high financial risk and intense creative talent behind
four Broadway musicals: Wicked, Avenue Q, Taboo, and Caroline, or
Change.
Some Assembly Required, Dori’s second feature doc, recently had its
World Premiere at the SXSW FIlm Festival. The film chronicles six
teams of determined teenagers as they navigate ‘the game of life’ on
their quest to win the national toy invention crown.
Prior to launching her career as a Director, Dori produced and/or
supervised over 40 feature, special f/x or animated productions
including Isaac Mizrahi’s award-winning documentary “Unzipped”,
“Dirty Dancing” (the movie & TV series) and Jim Henson’s
“MuppetVision 3-D”.
As a Broadway Producer, Dori’s productions include: “Thoroughly
Modern Millie” (Tony Award), Liam Neeson and Laura Linney in “The
Crucible”, Gary Sinise in “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” (Tony
Award), “Fool Moon” (Tony Award) and “Flower Drum Song”. Dori’s 11th
Broadway Show, “Legally Blonde: The Musical”, is currently playing
at The Palace Theatre.

soon.
